Some Topics You Should Be Very Alert About Bringing Up

While on your first date, be a little careful about what all topics you talk about. There are a few things to keep in mind on such occasions and some very important ones to make sure you refrain from discussing. There’s a very fine line to be aware of and breaking any of these rules can result in a date gone bad.

Use this occasion to explore your date and get to know more about the person without intruding upon their personal turf and making them feel uncomfortable. This is not about dominating a conversation and having your say, but more about being an equal and showing genuine curiosity in your date.

If your date were to ask about yourself, do answer the question with straight answer. Keep the conversation easy and flowing by asking some question on a subject of common interest. Always be engaged into the conversation and be mentally present.

One doesn’t talk about topics like politics or crime on your first date. This is not done.

Should your date be interested in the same subjects as you, then obviously the topic of common interest what ever it may be will figure out to be the main thread of your conversation.

If you end up talking about politics and hold different view points, then avoid conflict of interest and change the topic.

The other topic you should keep away from on your first date is Religion.

Unless you find out before going on y our date, that both of you are on the same side as far as your religions go and there is no controversy of opinions, religion is not a safe topic for discussion.

This sure can spoil your date as well as break the relationship because you haven’t known each other well enough. So do not broach the topic of religion on your first date. You can do so after a while when you know each other better.
